I got to see them one week ago, and some early Taurus sketches, not sure if the generation leap will be big enough. My source tells me that they have been ordered to go for evolution rather than revolution, for the near future models.

I think they're taking a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" attitude.
But I agree with you, I don't think the Taurus will leap enough.
I quite like the new edge tho!

Ford does have one of the freshest design languages right now(when you compare it to what Chevrolet, VW or Honda have in the showrooms) but if they rest on their laurels, they will fall behind quickly, especially when this has to show the design direction for the near future.

I agree, BUT thankfully the SMAX isn't sold here, and I thought the styling cues were going to be completely from it the last time they released one.

The one Ford strategy wasn't so advanced back then. Soon, almost 90% of Ford cars will be common for the US and the EU.
